Overview
Trovary is a place to keep the things you collect. This policy explains what information we hold, why we hold it, and the choices you have. Our guiding principle is simple: your collection is yours. We collect only what we need to run the product, and we never sell your data.
Information we collect
We collect the information you give us and a small amount of technical information needed to operate the service:
- Account information — your email address and a hashed password when you create an account.
- Your collection data — the items, copies, notes, ratings, and progress you add, and any files you import.
- Billing information — for Pro subscriptions, limited details handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Technical information — basic logs and device information used to keep the service secure and reliable.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and maintain your library, enrich titles with metadata you request, process Pro subscriptions, respond to support requests, and keep the service secure. We do not use your collection data for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.
How we store and protect it
Your data is stored on managed infrastructure and encrypted in transit. We restrict internal access to what is necessary to operate and support the product. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information and to notify you promptly if something goes wrong.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can manage most of this directly in your account settings, or contact us and we will help. We will never make you jump through hoops to leave.
Exporting and deleting your data
Export is available on every plan, at any time — your collection is yours to take with you. When you delete your account, we remove your collection data from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to any limited retention required for legal or security reasons.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand how the marketing site and app are used so we can improve them. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Third-party services
We rely on a few trusted providers to operate Trovary. PostHog provides product analytics for the marketing site and app. Sentry monitors errors and performance to keep the service reliable. Paddle processes payments and serves as our merchant of record for Pro subscriptions. our transactional email provider handles our transactional emails. These providers process data only as needed to perform their service, under agreements that require them to protect it.
Children's privacy
Trovary is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Your continued use of Trovary after an update means you accept the revised policy.
